Chipmunk
This painting was inspired by a chipmunk we saw when hiking in Yellowstone National Park. The chipmunk had a seed head from grama grass and was happily munching away on the seeds while we had lunch.
It has been painted in oil paint on a wooden cigar box measuring 6 "H x 6.5" W x 4.25" Tall. The cigar box lid warped slightly when I brought it home, but it was such a beautiful box that I wanted to use it for a painting anyway. The price reflects the slight warp of the lid.
The inside of the box was lined with loose tobacco leaves and it smells like tobacco. If you don't like that smell, you might not like this box. I think it smells really good, but I know smells are personal.
This is a one of a kind, original work of art. It has been signed by me on the top and will be numbered and signed on the bottom of the box as well.
You can hang this on your wall, or set it on a shelf and use it to store treasures...whatever your heart desires!
